We at William Drake Limited are looking for:

A (learner or experienced) general Organ builder

Are you an experienced crafts person looking to achieve more satisfaction in your work?

Or

Are you an aspiring person who is fascinated with the processes involved in making and restoring beautiful musical instruments?

Look no further!

Our company has increasingly interesting projects in its orderbooks, so William Drake Limited are giving you a chance to share with our team, the responsibility for the restoration of old organs and the manufacturing of high-profile new instruments.

In case you already have prior organ building, engineering or woodworking experience, you will be invited to contribute to our current projects as part of our team in a wide and interesting variety of jobs.

In case you don’t yet have the experience to work unsupervised, you will get the necessary space and time to develop yourself, under the guidance of your very experienced and skilled colleagues. Besides this, you will be assisting your colleagues with all-round organ building.

What do we expect from you:

  • to have woodworking and machining skills or a talent to acquire these
  • you like to work with your hands and have an affinity with works related to the craft
  • you have an inquisitive mind and the desire to produce high quality in your work.
  • you have a passion for (organ) music or play the organ; this is an advantage but not an absolute requirement
  • you have no problems with at times heavy physical work
  • you are willing to be part of our team during sometimes lengthy on site work
  • you are a team player

What do you get back for this:

  • Depending on the level of experience, a suggested starter wage in line with I.B.O. guidelines, and working conditions as in the I.B.O./G.M.B. Working Rules Agreement
  • Enrolment in a Nest Pension Scheme
  • A full-time job with 26 days leave entitlement plus 8 days UK statutory holidays
  • Enthusiastic colleagues and an informal working climate
  • You get to work in beautiful surroundings and to visit unusual places
  • A possibility for working part-time
  • A job offer is guaranteed with proven suitability
